Lima, Mar. 03 (ANDINA). Peru's First Lady Nadine Heredia Alarcon on Friday held a meeting with the director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Mirta Roses, with whom she pledged to join efforts in combating child malnutrition.
Roses was accompanied by the PAHO representative in Peru, Fernando Leanes, who also attended the meeting with Nadine Heredia.
At the meeting, the PAHO officials and the first lady agreed to join efforts to lower the rates of child malnutrition in the medium term.
It was reported that they also discussed the Motherhood Initiative and the possibility of repeating this effort in Peru.
Moreover, the visiting PAHO director thanked the first lady for the good health practices of Peru, which have allowed the Andean country to break the Guinness World Record for the most people washing their hands at the same time.
