Lima, Apr. 10 (ANDINA). Colca valley, located in Peru’s southern region of Arequipa received over 4,300 tourists during Easter long weekend, head of Colca Autonomous Authority, Fredy Jimenez Barrios said Tuesday.

Jimenez noted that visitors, especially domestic tourists, had the chance to participate from April 2 to 8 in religious activities carried out in this Peruvian region, and visited colonial churches along the valley.

He added that tourist arrivals have met the expectation during Easter holiday as they estimated to receive between 4,000 and 5,000 tourists.

“The interest of tourists to visit Colca is increasing, in particular those who came from Lima, Cusco, Puno and Tacna,” Jimenez stated.
